White House Officials Come Forward, Say Trump Preparing To Resign If Manafort Testifies

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who has served in different capacities in the White House since at least the 1960’s, has just come forward saying he’s ‘scared and worried’ Trump is on the verge of a mental breakdown.

Additionally, Clapper thinks Trump doesn’t have the fitness to serve as president and thinks he could be looking for a way out of the presidency.

“I question his fitness to be in this office and I also wonder if he is looking for a way out,” Mr Clapper, who has served both Republican and Democratic administrations, said.

“I worry about (Trump’s) access to the nuclear codes—it’s pretty damn scary,” he told CNN. “There’s really little to stop him.”

There may be some truth to Clapper’s concerns. Aside from Trump’s mental fitness, a White House insider revealed that Trump is already in ‘preliminary talks’ about possibly resigning from the presidency. The concerns have been circulating within the White House for months, but have recently gotten more traction.

Previously, it was reported in Politico, that Trump had discussions with his friends and advisors about resigning amidst the Russia investigation, but he feared being seen as a quitter like Richard Nixon.

Trump is preparing for the worst. No one is speculating Trump will resign without Robert Mueller’s investigation heating up, but that’s a real concern for the president.

Claude Taylor, who served on the staff of President Bill Clinton, and former senior Republican official Michael Steele, also confirmed that Trump is ready to exit.

“An ind journalist I have worked with-who has been reliable-says they have 2 sources that say Trump is considering options-incl resignation.”

MSNBC host Keith Olbermann touched on this topic, predicting based on several insider reports, that Trump will resign when Mueller’s investigation ends, and it could all be because of his former campaign manager, Paul Manafort.

“Manafort has been ‘flipped.’ Reports say it was Manafort who told the FBI about a meeting between Trump’s eldest son, Donald Jr., and a Russian lawyer linked to the Kremlin. That would be terrible news for the president if true: the FBI’s investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia now being assisted by the manager of that campaign.”
