BREAKING: Trump Served By Court For Destroying Key Documents

Several members of the Congressional Black Caucus held a press conference Friday morning to call for action following the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philander Castile, two black men killed by police whose stories went viral on social media this week.

During the conference, one black, gun-owning congressman had some choice words for the NRA.  Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA) gave a moving speech blasting the NRA for fighting so vigilantly for gun rights, yet staying silent when two gun-owning black men are killed for legally carrying a gun.

“How do you watch the result of it [concealed carry rights] with a young black man who says ‘I have a permit’ which you advocate for, and you sit by quiet.”

Philando Castile was killed after telling police he had a concealed carry permit.   Alton Sterling was shot by police officers after being tackled and pinned to the ground.  Authorities said Sterling was “armed”.

The CEO of the NRA released a statement on Friday morning addressing the murder for police officers in Dallas:

“With heavy hearts, NRA members honor their heroism and offer our deepest condolences to all of their families.”

The NRA did not make any formal statement about the death of either Sterling or Castile.

On their web show, the NRA said the killings did not “look good”.   A former NYPD officer and host of NRA News said the double standard, if true, means “we have a serious, serious problem in this country”.

The double-standard which can be so blatantly seen by the same people who advocate gun rights justifying police killings shines a direct light on racism in America.

Too often, it is the same group of gun right activists, like the NRA, who stand so idly by while black people are unjustly killed by police for exercising their right to carry a gun.
