Trump’s Ghostwriter Comes Out, Reveals Major Lie

President Trump’s former biographer Tony Schwartz, who helped Trump co-write ‘The Art of the Deal,’ has just revealed that Trump hasn’t given even $1.00 of the book’s earnings to charity, despite promising repeatedly in the past that he would.

“Trump hasn’t given $1 of Art of Deal royalties to charity. I give 100% of mine. All my donations, for now, will go to endangered immigrants.”

Now – there’s no law requiring that Trump donate the book’s proceeds to charitable giving purposes, but Trump has been documented at least 7 times over the last 27 years saying that he has given away all of his earnings from the best selling book.  This could be why Trump hasn’t released his tax returns because it would verify his lack of giving.

Trump even went on TV telling CBS News reporter Erin Moriarty in 1989, that the reason he writes books is not to make money but to give back.

“That’s why I write books … because the money always goes to charity and that’s my pleasure.”

Trump also told the New York Times last year (a source he calls fake news) that he’ll give away millions from the book because it was such a big success.

“I originally figured [the charities would] get a couple of hundred thousand, but because of the success of The Art of the Deal they’ll get $4 or $5 million.”

The Washington Post found that Trump often likes to make it appear he’s a big donor, even showing up at public events when he hasn’t even made a single contribution. On one such instance, Trump went to a charity for the Association to Benefit Children and sat right in the front next to major donors. He then left without giving a penny.

Per the Post:

“Nobody knew he was coming,” said Abigail Disney, another donor sitting on the dais. “There’s this kind of ruckus at the door, and I don’t know what was going on, and in comes Donald Trump. [He] just gets up on the podium and sits down.”

Trump was not a major donor. He was not a donor, period. He’d never given a dollar to the nursery or the Association to Benefit Children, according to Gretchen Buchenholz, the charity’s executive director then and now.”

Trump often boasts of how rich and well off he is, but his own ghostwriter who makes significantly less than him, has given more from the Art of the Deal book than he has. And, it’s not even close.
