According to a new exclusive report in the Wall Street Journal, Trump’s former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was working with a Republican operative named Peter Smith to illegally obtain emails on Hillary Clinton’s private server. Just days after giving the interview, Smith turned up dead.
Now – we have more information concerning his death. And, it smells like conspiracy all over it.
The Chicago Tribune followed up on the story of Smith’s death and got hold of the Minnesota state death record that said Smith had killed himself and was “found with a bag over his head with a source of helium attached” in a hotel near the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
From the Tribune:
In the note recovered by police, Smith apologized to authorities and said that “NO FOUL PLAY WHATSOEVER” was involved in his death. He wrote that he was taking his own life because of a “RECENT BAD TURN IN HEALTH SINCE JANUARY, 2017” and timing related “TO LIFE INSURANCE OF $5 MILLION EXPIRING.”
Who posts a note saying “no foul play” involved? I mean, if you were going to kill someone, wouldn’t that be the perfect note to leave on the body? It’s just so coincidental.
Before Smith’s death, he allegedly posted on Russian hacker forums specifically noting he was working with Flynn.
“He said, ‘I’m talking to Michael Flynn about this—if you find anything, can you let me know?’” Eric York, a computer-security expert from Atlanta who searched hacker forums on Smith’s behalf, told the Wall Street Journal.
The White House is refusing to comment but a Trump campaign official verified that Flynn had indeed worked with Smith, although in “his capacity as a private individual.” We’re not sure what that means, considering Flynn was advising Trump during his campaign. The only thing Smith would admit to is that he worked independently and not directly with Trump. Flynn must have been the intermediary.
But – Smith did say that he was actively trying to get ahold of Clinton’s emails, which could already be evidenced by the information gathered online. He was trying to get ahold of the 33,000 emails that Clinton deleted for “personal” reasons.
Smith’s efforts ended with him getting ahold of five separate groups claiming to have the emails that he knew were connected to the Russian government. Even though he couldn’t verify their authenticity, he still asked them to be handed over to Wikileaks.
The Wall Street Journal notes that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is already looking into the matter in the expanding Russia investigation.
Previously, Trump has publicly asked Russia to hack Clinton’s emails. He did this in front of everyone at a speaking event during the campaign. There’s just no way he didn’t have a conversation with Flynn about this. Trump must have known the entire time.
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 33,000 emails that are missing.”
It’s been reported that Flynn has already been cooperating with the FBI ‘for some time now.’ Senator Whitehouse made the comment to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and said that he had compelling evidence that’s the case.
They also believe Flynn could testify against Trump. And, that’s making Trump worrisome. If Flynn flips, it’s rumored that Trump is prepared to resign.
According to Claude Taylor, who served on the staff of President Bill Clinton, Flynn’s testimony was enough for Trump to consider waving the white flag.
“An ind journalist I have worked with-who has been reliable-says they have 2 sources that say Trump is considering options-incl resignation.”
The information was also confirmed by former chairman of RNC Steele, who told WWR at lunch that Trump will not finish his term; advises clients to bolster ties w/VP Pence.
In recent days there have been reports of Trump screaming at his television set from within side the walls of the White House. He doesn’t like how the media has been portraying him or how the investigation is going.
Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller’s decision to personally go after Trump for possible criminal acts and obstruction of justice has marked a turning point in the Russia collusion investigation, which until recently has only focused on Russia’s meddling into the 2016 presidential election.
